Over the weekend of the 15th to the 17th of September 2021, the three Scout Troops (Grey, Purple and Red) descended onto the Bowley International Scout Campsite. In total almost 50 Scouts were in attendance.
They arrived on the Friday evening to erect their own tents before gathering around the campfire to keep warm. It was a very cold night the first evening.
Saturday was an early start to get all the Scouts up and ready for flag break.
They were placed into groups and tasked with cooking and cleaning their own shelter and kitchen during the weekend.
After flag break they headed to the activities which included the Splatterpults, Three Man Catapult, Paracording and Soft Archery.
After these activities the Scouts made their lunch, cleaned up, then headed out on a hike of approximately 7-miles in the local area.
Upon returning the Leaders got a BBQ going and the Scouts enjoyed burgers, sausages and some even had the salad which was on offer.
On the Saturday evening, they joined some other Scouts who were on the Jamboree Selection weekend around a campfire and sang plenty of campfire songs. On their return they settled down with hot drinks and cake.
Unfortunately, the heavens opened on the Sunday morning, and they woke to a rather damp campsite. This did not daunt the Scouts who cracked on with making breakfast and sorting their own kit for leaving later. They then undertook more activities before dropping their tents as the parents arrived.
After a hectic couple of hours, the campsite was cleared, and the Leaders headed off back to the Warren to sort out the equipment.
Many thanks to all the Leaders for helping this weekend and we hope that all the Scouts had fun.
