Grey Pack highlighted Comic Relief as one of their #youshaped activities and so it was their normal pack night was transformed in a sea of red.
Participating in a number of activities, again selected by the Cubs, run by Leaders and Young Leaders everyone enjoyed: making wool bracelets; finding hidden lollies; guessing the number of sweets in a jar; naming a (stuffed) puppy; decorating cookies and cakes; and trying to drop coins into a glass.
After a fun (and sugar filled) evening a respectable £58.10 was raised for an excellent charity.
The £58 might not seem like a lot but here is what it can do:
- Provide a child living on the streets of Liberia, with everything they need to go to school for more than a year.
- Buy 23 insecticide-treated mosquito nets to protect a child in Africa from contracting deadly malaria while they sleep.
- Vaccinate 14 children in Africa against five deadly childhood diseases.
- Child care assistant to work with vulnerable children in an African nursery for two weeks.
Well done to all the Cubs, parents, Leaders and Young Leaders for all their efforts.
