In what is hoped to be the last of our “virtual” activities the Group held a camp over the weekend of the 9th – 11th April 2021.
To gain their Nights Away activity badge, everyone was expected to pack their own bag for the weekend and to build a den or to put up a tent.
The weekend of activities started on the Friday evening with Flagpole Pioneering.
Other activities included Smarties Cookies, the Carved Knight, Egg Decorating, Positivity Pebbles, Water Carrier / Catapult Pioneering, Muffnutts (a cross between a muffin and a donut), construction of a campsite model, Hot Dog Twists, Mini Easter Nests, a Time Capsule (not to be opened until 2031), Hot Cross Buns and homemade butter and Junk Modelling (with the theme of your favourite Scouting activity).
On the Saturday evening there was a live Zoom session consisting of a game of Bingo and a family Kahoot! quiz. This was followed by a “38th Got Talent Show” which was aired over Facebook. Well done to those that took part.
On the Sunday morning there was a stretching activity followed by a Scouts Own with an analogy to yourself as a flower or plant, and two further activities of a Wormery and a Log House.
Other activities included an Urban Orienteering Challenge around Cloughfold, Newchurch and Rawtenstall and a Mini Beast Hunt.
The subject of another website report was a series of inter-Sectional challenges to win a tub of toffees.
Well done to everyone that took part in the weekend. The activities will contribute to your badge work.
